Arrival

I made it! After kinda three days traveling I arrived to Sao Paulo on Thursday morning. Took quite a while to get through immigration and customs. Then I took the bus to Congonhas airport where my buddy Zandor picked me up. I'm staying with him for the first couple of days but I'm looking for a (shared) appartment near university.
On the same Thursday morning I went to Portuguese class near FGV to meet the other exchangees. Afterwards I had lunch with Zandor and two other Brazilian friends I met in Mexico and a girl form Norway who was in Mexico with us, too. In the afternoon there were things to fix at school, what courses to take etc.

Terminal - The Movie

You won't believe what happened! My flight to Sao Paulo was overbooked with more than a hundred people due to problems with the Brazilian airline Varig, so they looked for volunteers to stay in Frankfurt for one more day in a four-star hotel plus €600 cash. And the same thing happened the next day! I met some other German and Brazilian folks who did the same so we went to a lake nearby to kill time while it was like 37 deg.
After the second day they decided to send an additional airplane to carry all the people so it was no longer worth it to stay.

Going Away Party

After completing my last exam on Friday 21st I moved out of my room on Saturday and organized a little Going away BBQ for a couple of friends - those not still in exams or on vacation yet. It was pretty relaxed with some drinks and playing soccer. Check out the pics ...
